3 LAWS OF EXCEPTIONALITY (2)
Hello Dear Reader. In the first post on The 3 Laws of
Exceptionality, I shared on the Law of Giving. In this post we will take on the
second law. As a reminder, it is not what you know that really makes the
difference but what you do with what you learn. I personally make conscious
efforts to put into practice everything I learn immediately I leave the place
of learning. That way, it gets built into my system and subconscious pretty
faster because I am carrying it out with the enthusiasm I had when I learned
it. If you allow the passion and energy to wane before you practice these laws,
you may not get maximum results. You are the architect of your own destiny; I
am just a guide and consultant. You are the builder, I am the observer. Guess
what? I am just as busy building my own life as well. So you will be better off
considering it a privilege to get a little of my attention since I am just as
busy as you are. Before you get into reading the next law, if you missed my FREE E-book Gift in my last post, here
is another opportunity to get it. Simply leave a comment about this post below,
and be sure to include your e-mail address. You will receive your gift within
24 hours.
The Law of Obedience
True
obedience is prompt and precise.
There are
two concepts that try to discredit this law. They are partial obedience and
delayed obedience. If I must lay things straight, the end does not justify the
means. There are some things that are not to be rationalized. Let me give you a
quick example: Suppose you are CEO of GE, and you tell your personal assistant
“Sam, can you please get this cup of coffee off my table? I need to get down to
work right away.” Sam responds that he will be right back to do what you have
asked him to do; only that he just wants to deliver the files you handed to him
earlier to the accounting department and HR. While Sam is away, your secretary
walks in with a document for you to sign from the COO. Remembering that the cup
of coffee is still on your table, you ask the secretary to get rid of it. She leaves
the document before you, grabs the cup of coffee, wipes the table dry and heads
out immediately. She returns within a few minutes to continue with the signing
she earlier came in to do. While you are signing the document, Sam returns to
execute the new instruction of getting the cup of coffee off your table only to
realize that it’s been done already. Now tell me, who obeyed you? Sam or your
secretary?
Obedience
to God, authority figures, your intuition and your conscience – if it must
count in your favor – must be prompt and precisely executed. What is instructed
must not be incompletely executed nor should it be delayed for anything. We
must learn to correctly discern what is important all the time, especially in
the workplace. Partial obedience and delayed obedience are snags to
experiencing the extraordinary results that should follow ever act of
obedience. True obedience guarantees favor, strengthens reputation and enhances
dependability. If you really want to obey, don’t delay and don’t rationalize.
Do just what was instructed immediately.

THE 3 LAWS OF EXCEPTIONALITY
Have you wondered what the greatest of men in the
history of the world did to become so exceptional? Of a truth, there are stars
and there are superstars, and there is a whole world of difference between
them. A wise man opined that “the secret
of men is in their daily routine” meaning that there are things that these
people did that made them so exceptional. In The Outliers, Malcolm
Gladwell is of the opinion that the outliers–those people that engendered
extraordinary results–performed so not just because of what they did but also
because of where they are from. I totally agree with him and I suggest that you
make the most of your background and all the advantages that it offers you in
your quest for an exceptional life. But in this post, I am going to dwell on
those things you need to do to make your life count maximally. Knowing and
taking advantage of your background, you must do the right things also to be
really exceptional. That is what Effectiveness is all about; and that is my
message to you.
Just yesterday, Goldie,
a Nigerian Music Star and one of the faces at Big Brother Africa died of
pulmonary embolism in the wee hours of Friday, February 16, 2013. Shocking as
it was, it reinforced the fact that you have such a brief lifetime to be all
that you are made to be. At the most, you have twenty years atop a century. And
if you are reading this, I would guess that you have consumed the twenty years
over and above the century mark. If the reports of the UNFPA are anything to go
by, life expectancy is not more than 90 years in any country in the world.
Going by this, it tells that you are, at the moment, left with less than 70
years to be all that you were born to be. That calls for some reasons to be
serious and intentional about each and every moment of your life; especially
NOW!
Exceptionality. What does it mean? The closest word to it is Uniqueness. You are the only you that
ever existed, currently exists and will ever exist on this earth. God has not
run out of genetic combinations to repeat one combination in all the time the
world has been in existence. That tells me that you have one life that is
unique in all its ramifications. There is no one that can behave, perform and
influence the world in the way that you can. You are one in 12 billion! Let that
stick first.
Now, to the 3 Laws of Exceptionality. The three laws I
am about to share with you are three of the most powerful truths that I have
found in my research into the annals of history of the most exceptional men
that ever walked the face of the earth. Talk about men like Alexander the
Great, Jesus Christ, Abraham, Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, George
Muller, Martin Luther King Jnr., Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Micheal
Faraday and the list goes on. The interesting part is how I have come to
understand these three laws. My understanding of them is completely different
from how I have heard most of the world’s motivational speakers talk about
them. So why not see my perspective and how it drives exceptionality.
The Law of Giving
Whatever
must leave the hand must have already left the heart.
I
discovered that we don’t really give with our hands; rather we give from our
hearts. All giving that is not from the heart is simply hand exercise. Many
people claim to give but they are only wasting their time and resources,
because nothing can be expected from such endeavors. There is a right way to give without which
the whole essence and power of giving is defeated. I have written severally
that “a lie never turns out to be true”; so no matter how long you spend doing
the wrong thing, it will never turn out to be the correct thing. Nature is
designed to support only the very things that are rightly done. Giving done
apart from the heart carries no promise of returns, bears no real value and
counts for a loss to the purported giver. For giving to truly count, it must be
from the heart and leave from the hand. Otherwise, it is not giving.
In consonance with my commitment not to ever teach what
sells but what works; and to live my message, I am giving my newest E-BOOK
worth $28: How To Get Along Well With
Anybody as a FREE gift to everyone who leaves a comment about this post and
